Telephones

A telephone for the visually impaired user can make daily phone calls so much easier.  Some are corded and others are cordless.  All have larger than normal buttons and some even have jumbo buttons.  A big button telephone makes it so much easier to dial the phone because the numbers are easier to see and easier to punch.  Some buttons even speak the number as they are being dialed, to offer audible feedback that you are dialing the correct number.  Some phones also have talking caller ID, a super useful feature if you want to screen those annoying spam calls.  Some phones also have built in answering machines, so that you don't need a separate recorder on the counter.  ILA also offers some cell phones designed specifically for the visually impaired user.  The BlindShell talking cell phone speaks all functions and commands on the phone, making it more accessible for a low vision user.
