Telescoping Mini Cane

I like this cane a lot. My previous super lightweight telescoping cane was wonderful, except that the ground-striking section collapsed so easily. This cane completely solves that problem! It is very secure. In collapsed form it is small, it is maybe a half inch longer with a larger diameter than my lightweight cane. Other telescoping canes are 11 to 12 inches long, a big difference when you want to tuck it into a purse. Some differences I've had to get used to are... The lightweight cane does a phenomenal job of transmitting vibrations from the ground. This cane feels much more like a metal folding cane does. Vibrations are a little blunted, and you can feel the sections move against each other sometimes. This cane weighs only 6.4 oz., but that's about 3 times the weight of my previous cane, so it felt heavy in my hand at first. The button system works well, with only one press at the handle to collapse the whole cane. But you have to take it a little slow, both extending and retracting to keep the buttons working well. I normally use a 53 inch cane, so I sure wish they offered a mid-size between the 49" and 55". I got the 55" and it's good, but the mid-size would be just right for me. I am a very big fan of telescoping canes. I am so glad to have this new option that is compact, well engineered, sturdy, and the ground-striking section stays secure. If you've been looking for these features, this cane is excellent.
