Amazing Until It Broke 5 Days In
I was so excited to own this charming little slate. It worked like a charm and I brailled many recipes with it over the few days that I had it. It also came with its own stylus if I remember correctly. The problem is, the index cards will get stuck inside and it's tricky to pull them out. Once you braille the card on both sides, it seems the braille dots cause friction and it makes removing the card quite difficult. The slate ended up breaking as I was tugging and tugging the card to get it unstuck. Very disappointing, and customer service never responded to my request for a replacement. The solution, it would seem, would be to only put the sheets of a spiral pocket notebook into the slate, like the one I've linked below. Plain index cards do not have enough area to grip them when you need to pull them out. https://www.aph.org/product/spiral-pocket-notebook-for-braille/
