Product Description
HaptiBraille is an innovative new communication device which allows a deaf blind person to independently communicate with others using a 6 key Braille input device and text to speech. To start a conversation, the user types a message into HaptiBraille, using the 6 key, Perkins style keyboard. A text to speech synthesizer converts the typed text into speech, which is read aloud for the nearby companion. The companion can respond by talking into HaptiBraille. That spoken message is converted to Braille text and delivered to the user via vibrations on the Braille keyboard, delivering 1 letter at a time. HaptiBraille can work in multiple languages. Measures 5” x 0.5” x 2.1” and weighs 5 ounces. HaptiBraille requires the use of a free iOS or Android app, downloaded onto the user’s own phone.
